Mr. Gasòliba was born in Barcelona in 1945. He has a doctorate in Economic Science and a Master in Industrial Economics from Sussex University (U.K.). He is the President of the Spanish – Polish Chamber of Commerce, Member of the European Council, President of the Spanish Committee for the European League of Economic Cooperation (L.E.C.E.) and its Mediterranean Commission. President of the “Llibertat I Democràcia” Foundation, a Catalan organization member of the International Liberal Organization. Until January 2008, he was Senator of the Spanish Senate, and Chairman of the Senate’s Economy and Treasury Commission. He has been Member of Parliament for 7 years and Member of the European Parliament (legislatures of 1986, 1994 and 1999). European Unity Act (1989), European Union (1991), and Fer Europa (1994).
